First you must complete an approved 60 hour first year sales course designed to prepare you for the licensing exam. After completing the First Year Sales Course, you may send your application to the LLR - Real Estate Commission, then make an appointment to take the state exam. You may then take the 30 hour advanced principles real estate course to complete the total of 90 hours that are required. Once you take the state exam and become affiliated with a company, you will be issued a permanent sales license, which is valid for two years.
Alternatively, you can take both Unit I and II consecutively, so that all 90 hours are taken back to back and then when you've completed both portions, schedule your state licensing exam.
