To become an appraiser, you must begin with an apprentice license. To obtain your appraisal apprentice license, you will need to take three licensing courses: QE-1, QE-2, and QE-3. Once you have completed these courses, you will submit all three course certificates and be awarded your license. With this license, you must work under a licensed appraiser as his/her apprentice for a period of 24 months. During this time, you may take the four required license level courses: QE-4, QE-5, QE-6 and QE-7.
